Yoga teacher Evi Xiromeriti from Chandra yoga is offering open air postnatal yoga classes with babies in collaboration with physiotherapist Tania Ramos from Pelvic Flow.
We will be meeting on Tuesday mornings at the Østre Anlæg Park right opposite to Østerport train station. If the weather is rainy, Evi will be streaming the class via zoom.
Join us for a nurturing yoga practice that will help you to connect with your new self, your baby and other newborn mothers! We will be moving, breathing, relaxing and having fun together with the babies.
We will be practising yoga that is safe and at the same time effective for women that have just given birth. We will have focus on building strength from the inside out, reconnecting with the pelvic floor and our core through our deep breath. We will be also looking into our postural habits and everyday movements with the baby, to create more awareness that can help women to prevent aches and pains in the body. Through mindful movement and flowing sequencens we will be releasing tension in the neck, shoulders and lower back, opening up through the chest and strengthening the legs, buttocks and upper back. Towards the end of the class there will be time to cool down and enjoy a delicious relaxation!
What about my baby?
Your baby is an essential part of the class, and we will be doing practices that include and stimulate your baby in different ways. It might also be that your baby needs to take a nap or be fed&changed during the class, and that is totally fine! And do not worry that your baby will be loud, postnatal classes tend to be noisy but still pretty fun!
When can I start?
You can start after 6 to 8 weeks if you have given birth without complications. You can always ask your doctor if you are in doubt.
More practical info
-Women that are new to yoga, as well as more experienced practitioners, can join and gain great benefit from postnatal yoga.
-The classes will be taking place at a very nice and quiet spot at Østre Anlæg Park in Østerbro on Tuesday mornings 11:15-12:15.
-The price for 4 sessions of yoga (on the 11th, 18th, 25th of May plus the 1st of June) is 350kr.
-Tania from Pelvic Flow will be giving a small talk about the pelvic floor on the 11th of May at 11:00 until 11:15.
-The classes will be in English, but additional explanations can be given in Danish, if needed.
-Just bring a mat, a blancket and extra warm clothes.
