WORKSHOP A:

Yin and Yang for Healthy Hips: How to Create Stability around the Hip Joints.

Fredag d. 14. Oktober kl. 17.00 – 19.30

The hip joint is one of the most flexible joints in the human body.

In yoga, hip flexibility receives a lot of attention. Think of the term hip opening or pictures of yogis sitting blissed out in lotus seat for hours.

Unfortunately, though, this emphasis on openness around the hip joints can at some point work against yoga practitioners, especially if they are not simultaneously focusing on stability in the joint.

In this workshop, we will have a closer look at the five layers of the hip joint and many of the surrounding muscles, like quadriceps, adductors, abductors, or hamstrings.

We will explore how we can engage those muscles in order to create an intelligent support system for the hip joints.

Our class won't be only theoretical as we are going to incorporate all the information on the anatomy into a fun Vinyasa flow that will make you feel your hips in a different way.

Towards the end of the practice, you can enjoy some myofacial release of the muscles and tissues around the hip joint.

WORKSHOP B:

Free your Side Body: A journey to Vishvamitrasana

Lørdag d. 15. Oktober kl. 14.00 – 16.30

This extra-long Vinyasa Flow class is all about the side body: an area often neglected not only in everyday life but also in yoga practice.

Apart from taking plenty of time for opening up the sticky rib area we will also focus on preparing hips, hamstrings, and wrists for our peakpose, Vishvamitrasana.

We will play with different versions of the asana, an intermediate to advanced pose that combines elements of an arm balance, a twist, a deep hamstring stretch, and a hip opener, eventually leading to the full pose.

There will also be plenty of room for Pranayama and a long, juicy Savasana.

Expect a well-rounded Vinyasa Flow that will leave you a lot of time to play and explore.

WORKSHOP C:

Warrior Rising: An introduction to Budokon Yoga

Søndag d. 16. Oktober kl. 09.30 – 12.00

Budokon Yoga is a unique style of yoga that combines Hatha yoga with Martial Arts' circular influence and continuous rotation.

Meditation is another key element of the practice.

In the words of the style's founder, Cameron Shayne, the system can be summed up in one sentence: Budokon Yoga is the art of seamless transition coupled with the beauty of circular rotation.

Gilda will lead you through elements of the 7-part Budokon Yoga Primary Series, incorporating a yoga flow with a strong focus on the Martial Arts elements, primal movements, and meditation.

Be prepared to sweat, laugh and get in touch with your inner warrior.

It is not only about velocity and strength but also about outer and inner balance!

Gilda Goharian is a certified 500 hr yoga teacher. She particularly loves the flexibility and creativity of Vinyasa yoga and the way it balances body, mind and spirit.

Her classes are vigorous and energetic, but always with a strong focus on alignment, anatomy and breathing. Gilda received both her basic 200 hr and advanced 300 hr training qualifications from Vidya Heisel and Jennifer Yarro of Frog Lotus Yoga. She continues to be inspired by many different styles and techniques, including AcroYoga, Jivamukti-, Kundalini- or Prana Flow Yoga. Many teachers have influenced her such as Max Strom, Rusty Wells, Jenny Sauer-Klein, Twee Merrigan, and Kathryn Budig, but she also

benefited from the knowledge of many other, less well-known teachers.

In 2013, Gilda completed a Budokon Yoga® Teacher Training with Cameron Shayne and got hooked on this unique transition-based hatha Yoga flow with Martial Arts circular influence and continuous rotation. At present, she is working toward another 500 hr certification in Yoga Medicine by Tiffany Cruikshank, an advanced training that focuses on a deeper understanding of anatomy & physiology and its application to the traditional yoga philosophy. In addition to yoga, Gilda loves the practice of Traditional Thai massage and became a certified bodyworker in 2012.

She is honored to be currently on staff of three Yoga Alliance Teacher Training Programmes: Frog lotus Yoga, Ekhart Yoga, and Happy Yoga.
