This workshop is an intense journey into two of the main and foundational aspects of Yoga. The first part will be a solid, gentle Hatha practice with lots of guidance and hands on adjustments. The focus will be on alignment and grounding in order to facilitate improvement of each participants practice. The approach will be immersion like - diving into the practice with Pratyahara as the main tool. Drawing the senses inwards in order to experience the subtle details and shifts of the inner world. Expect lots of props to support you in your practice - and time to figure out how to move more appropriately in order to strengthen and stretch in a well integrated way. A key component of the workshop is how to stay safe in your practice going forwards.

The second part will be the practice of Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This state of consciousness - which is Yoga Nidra - is different from meditation in which concentration on a single focus is required. In Yoga Nidra the practitioner remains in a state of Pratyahara. The practice of Yoga Nidra has been found extremely effective introducing stress, insomnia, digestive problems, high blood pressure and anxiety. It has an immediate effect on short and long term memory, the capacity for focusing and learning.

The workshop will end with tea and treats to allow all back into the world in a safe, comfortable and gentle way.
